To ensure maximum convenience for visitors, a gooseneck post is often used to mount the telephone entry system within comfortable reach from their car window. These systems are generally installed around 10-12 feet away from the gate to allow ample space for the front of the car. While residential systems do not require a dedicated telephone line to operate, commercial systems do so they can dial different tenant numbers.
